Head of Information Security (m/f/d) 2019/0333

You care about the security of information technology systems and at the same time you are IT enthusiast with leadership experience who would like to flourish in a dynamic scientific environment. Your job is to analyze, monitor, and improve information security at the center. In particular with view to public trust that enables a scientifically renowned institution to thrive. You report to the head of the ICT department.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing advise in all information security issues at the Center
  • Planning, design and development of processes, systems and applications to monitor, analyze and implement information security throughout the center
  • Establishment and professional and disciplinary management of an information security department
  • Develop and enhance an information security management framework to ensure information security at the center
  • Training and safety instructions for all employees and guests of the center
  • Interface to other security-related departments at the center, in particular data protection management
  • Responsible for the assigned operational and project budget of the department

Your Qualification

  • Masters or Ph.D. (or comparable degree) in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, or Natural Sciences with a focus on information security
  • Several years of experience in a leadership and management position
  • Experience in leading a team with incident response responsibilities
  • Comprehensive experience in the analysis, monitoring and hardening of ICT systems with regard to their security
  • Methodological and process competence in the area of ISO 2700x, BSI Grundschutz or comparable information security standardsStrong sense of responsibility and high social and communication skills
  • Experience in leadership, motivation and development of employees
  • Awareness for cost and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English

Your pay will be graded based on the assignment of tasks and qualifications up to a maximum of pay group 15 with the salary scales of the civil service (Confederation). Basically, there is the possibility of an IT skilled worker bonus.

The position is permanent with a probationary period of six months.
