As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.

We are looking for a highly motivated research technician to join our international research team at the Institute for Diabetes and Obesity (IDO) of the newly established Helmholtz Diabetes Center (HDC) in Munich. The Helmholtz Center Munich is a member of one of the leading research associations in Europe – the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers.

Job Description

  • Organization, maintenance and ordering of materials and reagents
  • Development of mouse and mammalian cell lines
  • Light and fluorescence-based imaging
  • Mouse handling and behavioral paradigm
  • Stereotaxic injection

Your Qualifications

  • Education as a research technician (BTA, MTA, CTA) or an equivalent degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English
  • Versatility and willingness to adapt quickly to different tasks and timelines in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Good knowledge in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry (cloning, protein analysis, immunoprecipitation)
  • Good knowledge in animal experimentation (FELASA certificates to work with mice are available)
  • Immunohistochemistry and imaging
  • Generation and culturing of primary cells
